I stumbled across about this service. I have held on to my HomePod for over a couple years now because of the + – volume button error. I figured it had to be software related, as this error started after my HomePods updated to a new firmware version. For $80, which included shipping back and forth, this was well worth it, otherwise I just had a bookend. I am glad I held on to my Original HomePod and finally found solution. My 1st gen HomePod was flashing and was stuck after a software update. I brought it to Apple and they told me there nothing they could do. It was too old to qualify for a replacement and they don’t repair them anymore. They essentially told me to throw it away and purchase another one. Minn-Tech saved the day!
