How our Convenient Free Mail-In Process Works

How we help with your HomePod problems

Our customers’ experience deeply matters to us. We designed our process with the goal of making it as easy, transparent, and error-proof as possible.

Basically, your order kicks off the flow. Your major task would be to pack your HomePod nicely, and stick the label we send to you onto the package and get to it to US Postal Service. The rest should fall into place.  

  1. YOU PLACE AN ORDER ONLINE: Your order for the service or product initiates the process. Without an order, we cannot proceed.
  2. IF YOU ORDERED OUR SHIPPING BOX: If you added the “Send me a shipping box” option, we will send you the perfect box to pack your HomePod. The prepaid return label will be inside the box we send you. Simply put your HomePod in the box we send you, stick the prepaid return label on this box, covering the previous label. 
  3. IF PACKING ON YOUR OWN: We will email you your prepaid label with our address on it. CHECK YOUR SPAM/JUNK FOLDERS, as aggressive email filters occasionally mistake our emails as junk.   Print this label in “ACTUAL SIZE”, attach it securely to your box with barcode clearly showing, make sure that the label is taped securely from all sides to prevent accidental detachment from package. After packing your HomePod, you can also have US Postal Service print out the label for you using the QR code in the same email we send you. Follow the instructions in our email. 
  4. PACKAGING YOUR HOMEPOD: Make sure to ship your HomePod with ample padding inside a sturdy box to avoid damage during shipment. When you shake the box, nothing should slush inside. DO NOT WRAP THE CORD AROUND THE HOMEPOD, AND USE PLENTY OF PADDING. We’ll record the condition of each HomePod when we receive it, and we are not responsible for any damages during shipment.
  5. YOU SHIP THE HOMEPOD TO US: Please ship your HomePod to us within 3 business days of your order using the prepaid label from Step #1. We recommend that you obtain a receipt. Should the post-office accidentally lose your package, without a receipt, you will have only a claim without proof.
  6. ARRIVAL NOTIFICATION: You will receive a notification from us when we receive the item – you can also track it using the tracking number from Step (1). We’ll let you know if there is notable issues with the condition of the HomePod out of the box.
  7. POTENTIAL UNEXPECTED ISSUES: It is highly unlikely but, if it cannot be fixed, or has a different defect, WE will let you know, and discuss options. If you choose to do so, we’ll return your HomePod and issue a refund for the full purchase price.
  8. REPAIR and TESTING PROCESS: We will fix your HomePod within 2 business days. We will reset your HomePod to test connectivity, update its firmware/software to the latest version from Apple, and reset it to get it ready to be paired again with your network.
  9. WE SHIP IT BACK TO YOU: WE will ship your repaired HomePod and notify you of the shipment with a tracking number, so we can all track it.

My HomePod died on me after updating to 18.1. It would show no sign of life, even when connected to power. I called Minn-Tech and was given the reassurance I needed to purchase the $69 option to fix my HomePod. They helped me figure out the best way to pack the HomePod for shipment, updated me when they received my HomePod and the condition it arrived in, and told me what the issue was and what they did to fix it. The whole process took exactly a week to ship out and for them to fix and ship it back to me. They also replaced additional parts with no additional charge that were worn for preventative maintenance known to cause the subwoofer to fail. I just received my HomePod last night, and it is moving and grooving in my stereo pair. I highly recommend Minn Tech if you're looking for an easy way to fix your HomePod that wont break your bank.

EXCELLENT, WOW, FANTASTIC WOULD DEFINITELY USE AGAIN!!! My son's first generation HomePod was dead. Apple wants $275 to fix, might as well buy a new one. Googled the symptoms, saw YouTube videos on how to fix, honestly I would never be able to put it back together on first try, not to mention buying the right tools. Googled repairs in my area (Chicago suburbs), nothing. Came across Minn-Tech, what a find. For $69 (including shipping both ways!), Minn-Tech fixed the no power issue and replaced four ceramic DC filter capacitors as a preventive measure at no additional charge! Sent the HomePod on Tuesday 10/29 and was just delivered today, Monday 11/4. Works perfectly. Couldn't ask for a better result. Thank you Minn-Tech!!! My family has 7 other first gen HomePods, needless to say I've booked marked Minn-Tech. THANK YOU!!!

Found via a google review, sent in BOTH my old door stops (because that’s what they were good for since they both went pop within a week of each other) and Minn-Tech did a brilliant job – new diodes and caps in both, and a new logic board in one – and I think they cleaned them both too. What an AMAZING service. Glad to have my stereo pair back in operation. Amazing service, and less in the landfill. Brilliant work. Five stars, no notes, would do again.
